The needs within the health care environment are constantly changing to accommodate new technology and equipment advances for improved patient care. Many of our interior renovations are a result of new medical equipment such as PET Scanners, MRI’s, Audiology booths and similar major equipment changes. This interior renovation project converted almost 2,200 square feet of existing medical office space into a state-of-the-art PET CT Scanner Suite. This Suite was designed to streamline patient flow and privacy by incorporating individual patient uptake rooms and patient toilets with staff areas and a hot lab room as well as supporting areas for supplies, medication, workstations and etc.
Working with the proposed equipment manufacturer, we identified physical clearances, path of travel and access of equipment into the new suite, electrical power requirements, HVAC requirements, and lead shielding for the protection of patients and staff.
To provide patients with a comfortable and relaxed environment, we introduced several interior finishes such as decorative translucent glass walls, changing view ceiling panels in the PET room and illuminated art wall panels in the uptake rooms. Contemporary finishes used throughout the project also helped align this part of the hospital with 21st century interior design standards.
