Global Hawk Relocation

KFDE was involved in the planning and preparation for the relocation of the Global Hawk operations to Beale AFB. Over multiple projects commencing with the evaluation of power supplies with a required 99.99% reliability to the final building renovations, we provided planning, architectural, mechanical and electrical services from studies through to final construction. Items important to this client included:
  • Security and Access to the facility
  • Utility System Redundancy
  • Maintaining SCIF rating
  • Functional Space to meet their specifications
  • Phasing and Budgeting (multiple projects evaluated for budget and planning)
The architectural design services included repurposing an existing 17,500 square foot two-story concrete SCIF rated building to serve the needs of the Global Hawk mission. Security was of utmost importance so a new entrance vestibule was created for security clearance processing prior to admitting visitors into the building. Interior renovations were precise to address the specific needs of this unique operation such as the development of G-Hawk rooms which primarily consisted of heavy computer equipment. We also provided design for a new Media Room, Commanders Office, and all supporting administrative areas.
