Improving Efficiencies in Patient Care

This project provided Space Planning and Design for a slab to slab renovation of the main inpatient wing of the Hospital. The design focused on creating a patient-centered environment with specific rooms to address the anticipated occupancy and provided for improved observation and efficiencies for the medical staff. Specifics included:
 
  • 6 Acute Medicine Private Beds
  • 7 two-patient Semi-Private Rooms
  • 1 enlarged Patient Room for Ventilator Patients
  • 3 Acute Medicine Private Rooms designed as Infectious Pathogen/Medicinal Isolation
  • 3 Acute Medicine Private Rooms with Ceiling Lift System to carry Patients from Bed to Toilets
  • New Patient Observation Stations (POS) located throughout the space
  • Design of all required support functions such as Clean/Dirty Linen, Medicine Rooms, HAC’s etc.
  • Lead-lined Treatment Room for Radiation Therapy
